The Unseen, The Unheard, The Unconnected

Many of us feel unseen, unheard and unconnected. We feel overlooked by society and we feel that nobody really cares. Trying to fit in just leads to rejection. No one has the time to really listen to you because they are just to busy with their own struggles in life. Snap out of it people might say and why don't you just get over it. It is just a quick remark that they say to cut an uncomfortable conversation short. After trying so hard to be seen and heard, you don't really try anymore. In sadness and loneliness you continue to live out your life.
Being not seen and unheard will lead you to being unconnected from others. After a while it starts to be your shield from not being emotionally hurt. People seems to not to notice you as you walk by. You feel almost invisible to the world. It feels comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time. Why? Because it became your protection and because you do not really want to be in this state of mind. You want people to see you and understand you. You do not want to be standing on the outside looking in but to be apart of what is happening around you. You want the feeling of being connected instead of feeling separated and alone.
Trust plays a big part in our recovery. Who can we trust with our feelings without being judged or hurt? Will they laugh at us while our backs are turned? Will they tell others about what was said to them? Who can we trust becomes a big problem for us. Letting people to see your true self is letting yourself to be vulnerable to them. It is a time that you can be deeply hurt if they choose to. It is a risk that we have to take in order to make a connection with another person so as to end the loneliness of not being heard. Opening ourselves up to our world is hard for us to do because our lack of trust in others.
What is the answer to our problem? I think it is changing the lack of trust that we have in others however I think we need to wade in slowly than to dive in quickly. We need to move in tiny steps rather than large leaps. We can trust some people but there are some others we cannot. We have to be cautious but not to a point of doing nothing. Doing nothing keeps us of not being seen, heard or connected. We must do something for a change to occur in our life.
I will keep on praying for God to help us and to guide us so let each of us to find our way. I will pray to God to ease our pain and our suffering and to open our hearts and take away the fear that is holding us back. I will trust in God for I know I can trust him. I will let his love in so to energize my mind and my spirit. May God bless us and one day leads us all into his paradise.

Psalm 56:3,4 "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?"
Proverbs 3:5,6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
